Full-service book publishing

What full-service publishing means at Nova

Full-service publishing means one team does everything between a finished draft and a book on sale: editing, cover design, interior layout, ISBN registration, metadata and retailer setup. At Nova Publishers that work is split into four stages, and each one ends with your approval.

You don't need a finished manuscript to start. Send a full draft, a few chapters or an outline, and we'll reply within 1 business day with a fixed quote and a timeline. Authors who are already on Amazon can start at any stage too, for example with a new cover, a print edition or wider distribution.

The four stages

What happens, and what you approve

Pick a stage to see what your team does, what lands in your inbox, and what needs your OK before anything moves on.

Editing

Your manuscript goes to a Nova editor matched to your genre, so it's read by someone who knows what readers of your kind of book expect.

You receive
Your manuscript with tracked changes after each layer, so you accept or reject every change yourself.
You approve
Each edit, before the next layer starts. Every layer comes with a revision pass after your rewrite.

By package

  • Launch: copy edit and proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation and consistency.
  • Launch Pro and up: adds a flow, pacing and continuity edit, then line edits for clarity and rhythm.
  • Elite: adds a dedicated developmental edit for structure, character and argument.

Who does the work

Your editor is a person who knows your genre.

Nova's in-house editors are matched to each book by genre, and include editors who've worked at Penguin, HarperCollins and Hachette.

IRIS, a tool built by Nova's own dev team, runs the free readiness check and handles admin, so your editor and designer spend their time on your book. IRIS reads manuscripts but doesn't write or edit them, and Nova never uses your manuscript to train AI.

Your designers

One project manager, start to launch

From the first call to launch day, you always know which stage your book is in, what's due next and what you need to approve. You can follow it all in Nova Command Center, your author portal.

Questions

What authors ask before they start

Don't see yours? Send it with your manuscript and we'll answer within 1 business day.

How does publishing with Nova work?
Nova Publishers works in four stages: editing, design, production and distribution. You get a fixed quote first, tracked changes after each edit, and you approve every stage before the next one starts.
How do I publish a book for the first time?
With Nova Publishers, a first book goes through the same four stages as every other: editing, design, production and distribution, run by one project manager from your first message to launch day. You can start with the free readiness check or by sending your manuscript, and you get a fixed quote within 1 business day.
Will a real person edit my book?
Yes, every Nova Publishers manuscript is edited by people on Nova's in-house editing team, matched to your genre, and you get tracked changes after each round. IRIS, Nova's own tool, reads manuscripts but doesn't write or edit them, and Nova never uses your manuscript to train AI.
How much does it cost to publish a book with Nova?
Nova Publishers has four fixed-price packages: Launch at $999 for an ebook, Launch Pro at $1,899, Signature at $3,799 and Elite at $5,499. You get a fixed quote within 1 business day, before any work starts.
Do I keep my rights and royalties?
Yes, with Nova Publishers you keep 100% of your rights and 100% of retailer royalties, paid to you by the retailers through your own accounts. On sales through Nova's own bookstore and app, you get 70% of net.
Do I need a finished manuscript to start?
No, Nova Publishers reads drafts at any stage, so send whatever part of your manuscript exists. We reply within 1 business day with a fixed quote for the work it needs.
Do I need a literary agent to publish my book?
No, Nova Publishers works directly with authors, so you don't need a literary agent. Agents sell manuscripts to traditional publishers, which is a different route.
How long does it take to publish a book?
At Nova Publishers, Launch takes 4 to 6 weeks, Launch Pro 8 to 12, Signature 12 to 18 and Elite 14 to 20, counted from the accepted quote and payment.
Can I see the changes before they are final?
Yes, Nova Publishers sends your manuscript back with tracked changes after every editing stage, and nothing moves to the next stage until you approve it.
Whose accounts and ISBN are used?
Nova Publishers sets your book up in your own KDP, IngramSpark and other retailer accounts. The ISBN is Nova's by default, or your own if you'd rather buy one.
What formats can I publish?
Nova Publishers publishes ebooks, paperbacks, hardcovers and audiobooks. Launch covers the ebook, Launch Pro adds print editions, and Signature and Elite add the audiobook.
Can Nova publish a book that's already on Amazon?
Yes, Nova Publishers can take a book that's already on Amazon and add a print edition, wider distribution through IngramSpark, an audiobook, or a relaunch with a new cover and a fresh edit.
What happens after my book is published?
Launch Pro and above include 30 days of post-launch support from Nova Publishers, covering your listings and any retailer issues. The book stays in your accounts, and you can add an audiobook, a new edition or marketing later.
How do I start?
Send Nova Publishers your manuscript, or whatever part of it exists, through the contact page or to connect@thenovap.com. We reply within 1 business day.
